What a lovely find on our weekend in Chester. Staff were really friendly and attentive and the ambiance was very relaxed - a few people came in for a bite and some just for drinks. Steady for a quiet Monday afternoon. Lovely menu with lots of choice. The waitress came back three times before we eventually decided on starters of garlic bread (delicious) and spicy chicken wings with the best hot sauce i have ever had! Followed by beautiful and plentiful chicken Caesar salad with a perfect dressing in a side dish as I'd asked for, and Fish and chips were served beautifully presented on a plate, but sat on a fake, specially created newspaper - fun, yet classy and very very good. House wine on offer at £10 bottle was great value. Too full for deserts, but as it was my boyfriend’s birthday, we managed to squeeze in a cocktail each (2-4-1) which were lovely. We stayed far longer than intended but we had a great couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. tastecard was mentioned on our arrival and shown at end of meal with no fuss. Will definitely return on our next visit to Chester. Try this place, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
The Globe - Alresford
We haven’t visited this Pub for several years now, and thought we would re-visit it with my Daughter and Son-in-Law. We were made to feel very welcome, and the food was great. Lovely view from our table over-looking the pond, I would imagine, should we ever get a hot summer, this pub would be lovely to sit outside and have a meal.
