My friend and I met at The Ship for a meal and a chat. The restaurant is nice and cosy in 'The Cuddie' and the waiting staff gave us lots of time to make our selection from the menu. Although the menu is simple pub grub, there are a number of daily specials to choose from. We both chose the mushroom tagliatelli with garlic bread and were very pleased with our choice. We were both tempted to try the sultana cheesecake for dessert and I must say it was divine! We finished the meal off with a coffee (my friend's Decaff was not that great) and when the bill arrived we couldn't believe what great value the evening had been. We will definitely eat there again.

"We visited on a Wednesday 'Pie Night', the pies were excellent and the service and setting were first class. Also visited on a Thursday, excellent value even without the TasteCard will certainly go back again.
