Marie said "Average at best
Of the three main courses we ordered, one should have been listed as an expensive starter rather than a main course - a piece of Rupchanda 60mm x 60mm x 8mm. I personally couldn't eat this but, of course, that doesn't make the dish poor necessarily. The Achari lamb was very tasty, although much, much sweeter than either my companion or I had experienced, with little sign of pickles being used in the preparation, as is traditional. The Korma sauce of our third dish had all the right flavours but had been watered down, resulting in a very insipid dish. I heated the doggy-bag portion the next day, reduced the sauce considerably which improved its flavour and consistency.

The Saffron is quite a small restaurant and with 3 large TVs playing, the atmosphere is anything but ambient.

Despite the very friendly staff, this was an average at best experience that we won't be repeating. "

Went with my wife and 4 friends. Had never been before, but was very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the service was friendly and efficient. We were not rushed and the courses were well spaced out to allow for good conversation. Value for money was excellent and we will definitely go again. tastecard was accepted without and fuss and was applied to the food for all six of us. Only issue we had was that the seating meant little room to get out. "

This place is hidden away in Rush Green, but if you live local it is well worth the visit.

The outside looks a bit run down but upon entering the place looks nice, clean and a friendly place for dinner. After a little confusion from the staff on if the tastecard is accepted or not we finally got ordering. I had the Alou Chat for starter and was very tasty. The mains were very good, the madras was not overpowering with chilli while the korma wasn’t too sweet. Overall everyone was impressed with the food, and with the tastecard the price for 2 of us was under £30.

Will visit again. "
