At Banana Tree, they want to offer you an authentic selection of dishes and specialties from the Indochina region, the lemongrass growing countries of South East Asia that include Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the peninsula of Malaysia and Singapore.

It has taken founder and head chef William Chow nearly twenty years of persistent dedication in developing and refining their healthy Pan-Oriental menu.  The restaurant sources fresh herbs from the Mekong region of Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam and the dry spice mixes from the Peninsula of Malaysia, turning any ordinary evening into an exotic adventure!

Get down to their Angel branch and indulge in some fresh "Indothentic" dishes! and if you're feeling daring why not try 'The Dirty Thai Guy'. Delicious food, cocktails, buzzing atmosphere - what more could you want!

I often come here for lunch/dinner, as I work nearby - the fact that they accept tastecard is just a bonus! (Tip: the lunch specials can be better value). The food is fresh and tasty (and veggie-friendly) and the service is courteous and efficient. I like the open space and industrial-ish decor, but it does tend to get a little noisy at busy times (and can be draughty near the door). "

I went with friend the other night. So looking forward to enjoy the food (attracted by the good comments) but overall we were disappointed. Atmosphere was good, staff were helpful but food are just not up to standard apart from Chicken Satay. We ordered Green Papaya Salad the taste was funny & it smells like it was off. Tamarind fish - ok but the portion was small. The monk vegetables, again small portion & quite salty. Malaysian 'Pull tea' (teh tarik), not quite the taste... Won't go back again. "

We had dinner at Banana Tree last night. It was a busy evening, but based on the comments here that was expected. We waited for about ten minutes to get a table. Service wasn't the quickest, but then it was a very busy evening, and staff were friendly and polite so I can't complain. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Due to crowds the place gets a little loud, so perhaps not the best place for a quiet romantic dinner or anyone with hearing problems, but otherwise I would definitely recommend the restaurant. "

" Fantastic food, very pleasantly surprised. Excellent service despite it being a very busy night. We had to queue for a short while but it was well worth it, especially with the tastecard discount. I will defiantly go again.

Great place for vegetarians as there is a lot of choice, they also asked me if I was vegan, vegetarian or whether I ate fish to ensure my meal was suitable and offered to adapt if necessary. "

" Enjoyed the friendly, helpful and efficient service and delicious food. There was a wide selection of dishes from South East Asia and the presentation was attractive. My friend and I felt spoilt for choice and were both impressed; a very different and unusual Sunday lunch, will definitely recommend to friends. "

" My boyfriend and I couldn't decide where to eat and we stumble across this place as it was raining. It was very busy and we had to wait for 10 minutes which was not too bad. The food was very nice and better than expected. My boyfriend enjoyed it. They serve cocktails and raw juices too. We would definitely go back again. The service was good despite it was very busy. Would highly recommend. "
