I recently visited this restaurant with friends. Its location was ok, however definitely not as elaborate as its name suggests. Our waiter was very polite and did try his best however due to his poor command of English, he was clearly struggling to understand our order. It seems the waiting staff lacked support from the management. We visited this restaurant at a time when it was almost empty; I would dread to imagine how they would cope when it's busy.
Despite the above, I felt all would be forgotten if the food had been good. Unfortunately, this was not the case. For starters we ordered the Non-Veg Platter, Naan Bread and Chilli Mogo. The platter was bland, the Naan Bread was thin like paper (not thick and fluffy as it should be), but the Chilli Mogo was quite nice. For main, we ordered Methi Chicken, Chicken Biryani and Naan. This time we asked for both dishes to be spicy, however when the Methi Chicken arrived all the chef had done was throw in a few Green Chillies into the pot as opposed to cooking into the sauce. The Chicken Biryani was also below average.
Finally to add insult to injury, when we asked the waiter to take the leftovers in a "doggy bag" he informed us that the management enforced a £1 charge per container (In all my years of dinning out I have never been charged for this)
The only redeeming factor about this restaurant is that it is featured on the tastecard, offering a 50% discount on the food. Our experience definitely did not justify paying full price, bearing in mind the number of restaurants serving much better cooked food within driving distance.
This is the first time I have written a review on a restaurant, but felt compelled by my experience.
