We went here with our taste card and had a simply stunning meal. Best of all we only paid for one of them and the couple of bottles of wine. Can't recommend this enough. We will be going back. "

" This is a historic old building, Kendal's oldest and grade 1 listed. Money has been spent revealing and making the most of the unique setting. There are nooks and private areas to eat in as well as the bar area which usually has a log fire going. Ask to see the tudor four poster bed that been upstairs for many centuries. Food is modern, delicate and subtle but satisfying.
Service is usually excellent. Occasionally if you are picky will you notice that staff are still learning. . This is a very well run training restaurant with a top chef, Robert Stacey in charge. It is expensive but tastecard makes it affordable. It's what tastecard is for. Shame it's only available on Thursdays. I hope they can open for longer hours soon. "

" This was an excellent little restaurant, set in a beautiful building and with a very tranquil atmosphere. Staff were courteous and efficient.

There was a good choice of food on the menu, beautifully cooked and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed what we chose and were very sorry that we could only visit on the Thursday night, due to returning home next day.

The restaurant is only open Thursday-Saturday evenings, otherwise, all good!

Would love to visit again someday if we are in the area. "
