Diciannove Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar is located opposite Blackfriars station in the Grade II-listed Crowne Plaza London City Hotel, and serves up some of the most contemporary and authentic Italian fare in the heart of London.
Built on the foundations of King Henry VIII's Bridewell palace, the hotel was formerly a prison and a bank before finally finding its feet as a Double AA Rosette award winning Italian restaurant.
Diciannove's Executive Chef Alessandro Bay, who trained in Michelin-starred London eatery Locatelli for a decade, will serve you home-made pastas such as tasty beef and pork ragout and Spagettini all’ Astice: spaghetti tossed with fresh lobster, Pigato thyme and fresh tomato. If you’re after something other than pasta, there’s a fine selection of secondi, such as chargrilled swordfish, or the popular Filetto di Manzo: beef fillet with potatoes tortino, sautéed leeks and veal sauce.
All of this is carried out amidst weekly Thursday live Jazz nights and monthly regional gourmet dinners. The wine bar serves the finest of Italian wines by the carafe alongside a Chichetti snacks bar menu.
