The medieval village of Hornby was laid out as a planned market town in the 13th century; the Castle Inn is situated in its centre opposite the site of the original market place and the entrance to the actual castle.
The Castle Inn is an open house not tied to any brewery who stock Ales from the local Bowland Brewery plus Black Sheep and many others.
They have a wide range of wines and spirits. Plus a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including Crabbies alcoholic Ginger beer and Fentimans range.
You are welcomed to dine in the bar area or in the 40 cover restaurant area. All the food here is prepared from locally sourced produce, cooked to order to ensure quality and freshness.
You can expect to find dishes such as starters of Moules Mariner Mussels cooked in a garlic, cream and white wine sauce, served with a wedge of crusty bread to mains of Wild Duck Breast Seared duck breast served with steamed parsley rice, finished with a orange and sage sauce, and accompanied by pak choi and seasonal vegetables and not forgetting one of the delicious desserts such as Lemon and Lime Posset With a minted shortbread.
