Walnut Grove is a lovely place for lunch in Dorchester just off the main shopping street in a little road between Toni & Guy hairdressers and The Works. Ground floor is split on two levels and there's an upstairs plus additional seating outside for the warmer days too, so has a good size seating capacity. Well established cafe that's been in the town for years with a good reputation. Modern homely feel with a very extensive menu for lunch time eating or for coffee and cake. I always find it difficult to choose what to have because of the big array of the menu. Always freshly prepared food which is nicely presented with a fresh, generous and lively looking side salad (which is often one of my gripes in places). There's nothing worse than a limp, tired, days old looking salad. Why bother putting it on. Well not the case at Walnut Grove. Freshly baked cakes and buns also available to tempt you as well as dessert menu. I think they do breakfasts here as well, although I've not had one. Gets very busy at lunchtimes. Staff always very friendly and welcoming and look clean. Always happy to accept the TasteCard even if you've forgotten to book. Highly recommend this lovely place for lunch. It's a little gem in Dorchester. "
