I've been here once before a little while after it first opened and I didn't think the food was that good then but as I was in the area, I thought I'd give it another try and I was equally disappointed.
We was told as a tastecard holder, we can order anything on the menu other than steaks, which was what we went in there for. So for starter we ordered calamari rings and steak and blue cheese, when they said we couldn't have steaks, that meant we couldn't have anything that had steak in it! :( So we had the chicken wings instead, which were ok but the calamari rings were over cooked and the batter was very hard. For mains we had Jerk Chicken with rice and kidney beans and the Chicken Rodeo burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was soggy and sloppy, the onions were half cooked, the salad was all soggy, the cheese had no taste, the sweet potato fries were bland! (Need seasoning before cooking) The Jerk Chicken, the skin had a little twang but that was it! Apparently they had to make it milder because people were complaining that it was too hot! If you don't like hot spice, don't order Jerk Chicken! But don't change the recipe!! The rice and kidney beans was bland. And for dessert we had the Caramelised Cheesecake and the Chocolate Brownie. The brownie was ok but it wasn't a brownie, it was a warm chocolate sponge cake. The Cheesecake topping tasted like salted caramel and was really nice but too much of it was a bit sickly. The only thing I can't fault was the service, George served us and was very friendly and helpful. Just a real shame about the food and not being able to have steak. It seems as steak is the most expensive thing on the menu, they don't want to include it in the 50% off as they think their giving it way but if we had been allowed to have steak the bill would of been more than what it was!
