Ideal as a bite to go with anything from the bar, as well as exemplary appetisers in a larger meal, are the superb starters and the sumptuous sharing platters, especially with a party of sociable diners. Particularly merit worthy picks include the juicy meatballs, beef and pork meatballs adorned with a Bloody Mary salsa, the delectable Halloumi and pepper skewers, finished with a chimichurri sauce, and the eclectic Poppin' Chicken Platter, consisting of spicy chicken wings, Szechuan chicken lollipops, popcorn chicken and more with chips and dipping sauces.

Those seeking something a little larger, and solely for the themselves, should peruse the main courses, which features such delicious dishes as the hearty wild mushroom pasta, Mezzoluna pasta complete with forest mushrooms, truffle oil and a garlic and sage sauce, the succulent chorizo and beef burger, topped with melted cheese and salsa, and the classic fish and chips, partnered with mushy peas and a tartare sauce.

There's also an alluring list of desserts for any diners still susceptible to their sweet tooth, offering the opportunity for a rich three course meal, as well as an array of casual bites, at Gem.

" Almost did not go in as it was empty. Surprising at lunchtime in this area.

I had a fish finger sandwich and my hubby a burger, both of which were nice.

We had ordered starters but they came with the mains so we had to eat them altogether. We ordered chicken wings which were very nice but the calamari was very chewy, hard and not pleasant at all. That I was very disappointed in.

Staff were very nice, pleasant and chirpy.

We only got a discount on the starters as the mains we picked already had a "special lunch time offer". However, it would have been good if we could have paid the ordinary price and then have the Tastecard discount. Overall we did not save very much. "

We went with friends while visiting London. We went at 4pm when it wouldn't be busy as we hadn't booked. We enjoyed our experience as we were on a day out with friends. There were 4 of us and we ordered 4 meals. The waitress brought cutlery for 4, however, she only brought 3 meals and then looked surprised when we pointed this out to her!!! She was most apologetic and the 3 of us started eating our meals while the other meal was produced (she did give the one with the missing meal a large strawberry to eat while waiting). My husband, who ordered the pasta, was disappointed with size of his as there wasn't much on his plate compared to us, who ordered the chicken. His was also cold so he sent his back. He is not one to complain and is not a big eater, so it really must have been cold and we were embarrassed at the size of his compared to ours. Only 2 of us had dessert - chocolate brownie Eaton Mess. We had to wait a long time for it (probably to be defrosted). It was OK, but a bit dry as the whipped cream was over - whipped and there was only a few rosettes of cream. We were also given dessert spoons, which were too large to reach the bottom of the serving glass, instead of parfait spoons, and we couldn't reach the fruit at the bottom without tipping it up. So, if you eat here, don't order the pasta dish if it's for a main meal. The chicken dish was lovely . We would have been totally disappointed if we had paid the full price. The waitress, however, was a nice girl and the above problems were not ALL her fault. "
