" Went to St Christopher Inn for dinner on Valentines. I had booked a table but as it was a pub wasn't expecting a reserved table, but was surprised when I arrived to find a table was reserved with my name on it. Staff were friendly and the food was great and my boyfriend enjoyed the ales.

" Went for dinner with some friends on a quiet Tuesday in January. They say they like you to book, which we did, but it's a pub rather than a restaurant and they seemed a little confused. Sure enough, when we arrived there wasn't a table reserved for us but the pub was only about half full so there was really no need.
The staff were very friendly and utterly capable - bar staff who can remember more than 2 things at a time seem pretty rare these days. The food was very tasty, not overly fancy and excellent value with the tastecard discount applied. They had a good range of ales on and the two we tried were very nice indeed.
I'd certainly visit again. "

Nice little pub quite cosy! Went on a cold Tuesday night. Bargain for the 50% offer on food had Pie and Mash nice presentation and texture. When ordering the food the waitress did say we should make a reservation but still accepted the tastecard discount. Would definitely go back.

"My experience was more disappointment than anything else, following all the positive comments. The "cute" restaurant part was an extension of the pub and just as unprepossessing. Most people were drinking, not eating and one person seemed to think it was his bedroom. The staff were indifferent at first, but warmed up. The starter I ordered from the Specials Board was no longer available (I was one of the first to eat), but did not get erased. There was not much variety otherwise among the starters. The "pull" for me in the first place was the Belly Pork advertised on their website but is no longer on the menu. They got my partner's order wrong but because of the slow service we had to make do as we were in a hurry for the theatre. The food (Pigs Cheeks) WAS very good and so was the ale but it was noisy and I wouldn't go there again in the evening, though might try it again for lunch (if The George up the road was full!) I really can't relate to all the positive comments at all!!

"I was in the area last night and went without any expectation and came back home so amazed by that place. I love the dining area at the back, the staff are very nice and the food amazing! Everything was delicious even the butter, I fell in love and ask them to put it in a doggy bag for my breakfast this morning so amazing was even the smallest details during our dining experience. I strongly recommend the place and we will be back.

"Great food for a great price, the best sausages and mash I have had in a long time and with the card’s discount it was so cheap we almost felt bad about it!
The pub doesn't look very inviting when you first come in, but keep walking towards the back where they have a little dining section and you can sit down comfortably.
I will definitely be going back!
