The owners of Petrus take great pride in what they serve, keeping the menu uncomplicated and honest by limiting it to three types of steak: sirloin, ribeye or fillet, cooked sous vide and accompanied with chips and your choice of sauce. ‘Sous vide’ is French cooking technique whereby the steak is vacuum-sealed in a bag and heated slowly and gently in hot water, to ensure maximum moisture and even cooking. For starters or light bites, Petrus offers olives, mozzarella sticks and the highly popular cheese or charcuterie boards which are perfect for sharing.
Expect to find cosy, rustic furnishings, leather sofas and local art on the walls. Some evenings, you’ll be able to drink, dine and socialize to the sound of a live performer playing blues, jazz or soul. Despite the bundles of character, Petrus Wine Bar still remains relaxed and unpretentious, which makes it the perfect place for a romantic date or to catch up with friends.
