Located between the historic cities of Ely and Cambridge, The Travellers Rest in Chittering is a lovely family friendly country pub. Just down the road from the Chittering Park campsite, the pub is a popular destination for campers whilst its central location between two of the area’s most prominent cities makes it a great choice for visitors and locals too. Cambridge is just 7 miles away and boasts one of the world’s most important universities as well as an array of museums, churches, gardens and galleries. Ely is also close by, an historic city featuring a magnificent cathedral as well as Oliver Cromwell’s house.
The Traveller’s Rest is both a pub and restaurant and serves a brilliant menu filled with home cooked pub classics all at very affordable prices. Tuck into a hearty plate of toad in the hole made with Lincolnshire sausages, Yorkshire pudding and topped with onion gravy or a delicious Hunter’s chicken topped with BBQ sauce, cheese and bacon and served with chips, peas and coleslaw. The grill dishes up a range of mouth-watering steaks, served with onion rings, tomatoes, mushrooms and chips whilst there are plenty of lighter bites to enjoy including baguettes, burgers and sandwiches.
Owner Steve and his team offer a warm welcome to everyone at The Traveller’s Rest where a wide range of drinks are served at the bar. The large dining room offers plenty of space whilst the bar area provides a cosy area in which to enjoy a drink and bite to eat.
