A scenic half an hour’s drive outside of Hull, The Spotted Duck is the perfect place to enjoy a delectable lunch and a cup of tea after a long walk around the lakes of Westfield Country Park.
The traditional English tearoom is run by two effervescent friends, Jo and Helen, who delight in serving beautifully presented sandwiches, pies, mini quiches, giant scones, tea, coffee and homemade cakes to regulars and new visitors alike. There is also a hearty full English breakfast available, as well as weekly specials such as cottage pie with Yorkshire puddings, or barbeque pulled pork baguette with chips. With ample car parking and facilities for all the family, everyone is welcome.
Sampling one of the Spotted Duck’s mouth-watering sweet treats is an essential part of the experience: The ladies knock up a colourful array of cheesecakes (including an Oreo one!), banoffee pies, sponges, trifles and tarts in their kitchen, which are all lovingly decorated with all manner of ways with chocolate, fruit and sweets.
The Spotted Duck bursts with character: quirky touches such as printed table clothes, gorgeous floral printed chinaware and colourful decorations add a modern twist to the pastel palette of the café.
There is also a terrace with outdoor seating, for taking tea al fresco in the summer months. But even when it’s pouring with rain outside, you’re found to find lots of warmth and sunshine indoors in The Spotted Duck.
Please Note: this 2 for 1 offer only applies to meals featured on The Spotted Duck Tearoom’s main menu.
