The prestigious Viet Ace in Hammersmith, West London, may look small from the outside, yet the façade gives away to a spacious and stylish local favourite. Upon passing the King Street threshold, guests are welcomed into colourful oriental surroundings by friendly staff, and treated to an array of traditionally prepared and very authentic Vietnamese dishes, accompanied by an excellent wine list.
The extensive, vibrant menu is perfect for both avid lovers of Vietnamese food, and those new to the cuisine. Be prepared – you’ll be spoiled for choice on what to try, as it features nearly a hundred Vietnamese dishes – all of them prepared fresh to order by the highly-experienced and jovial chef. He cooks up exotic salads, Pho, curries, pork, beef, chicken, vegetarian and seafood specialities, rice and noodle dishes and the unmissable Bahn Xoe: crispy Vietnamese pancake wraps filled with prawns, squid, pork and herb salad.
Other highlights include Bo Rengdan: Vietnamese beef curry, perfectly simmered in a claypot with coconut and plenty of fresh herbs and spices, and the chargrilled, marinated quail with spice and honey. If you’re after a fresh, simple taste of the East, the chicken salad, made with lemongrass, garlic, chilli, herb salad with Vietnamese dressing and crushed peanuts is highly recommended.
Located just a block off of Great West Road, two minutes’ walk from Ravenscourt Tube Station and ten from Hammersmith or Stamford Brook stations, Viet Ace is the perfect hide-away from the frenetic streets of London, whether you’re stopping by mid-week to satisfy your spice craving, or planning something a little more special with friends or a loved one.
