2 for 1 at Angora Grill House

Within a stone’s throw from Carshalton Beeches railway station and easily accessible from central Sutton, the excellent Angora Grill House brings fresh and flavoursome Middle Eastern halal cuisine to Stanley Park.

Widely recognised as a popular takeaway, Angora Grill House also offers a delectable dine-in experience, which can now be enjoyed by tastecard holders at 2 for the price of 1. Whether you're popping in for lunch, or craving a huge dinner, you're bound to leave vowing to return. Begin your indulgent fill with a selection of starters, so tempting you’ll be spoiled for choice at what to order. Yapark sarma - vine leaves wrapped around rice and pine kernels, or the saksuka – aubergines with garlic and green vegetables are highly recommended. Or, for a taste of the Mediterranean, choose the sigara boregi – filo pastry filled with feta and parsley, the mixed olives, or the freshly fried calamari – all perfect to share with friends or family. For meat-lovers, there’s also the grilled Turkish sausage, or lamb kofte smothered in rich sauce.

Main courses range from the usual chicken shish kebab and lamb shawarma donner with the special Angora homemade sauce, to the more sophisticated Greek moussaka. Made with layers of minced lamb, aubergine, green peppers, tomato, onion and béchamel sauce, this baked dish is comfort food at its best. For a more simplistic bite on the go, there’s a range of steaks, burgers and seafood options.

Despite Angora being a grill house, the chef’s vegetarian creations are flavoursome enough to tempt even the most devoted of carnivores. Try Angora’s super-healthy turlu: a vegetarian casserole filled with courgette, mushroom, carrot, green beans, onion, pepper, potato, baby corn, aubergines, garlic and tomato, served over rice, or the imam baylidi: aubergine stuffed with vegetables and red cabbage and flavoured with dill. Round off your memorable Middle Eastern meal with a traditional baklava or bowl of sutlac, or a more quintessentially English portion of cheesecake.

The passionate owners of Angora Grill House succeed wholeheartedly in their one aim of bringing authentic Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine to Sutton.
