Conveniently located in the coastal town of Portishead on the Severn Estuary, close to Bristol and the a few minutes from the M5, The Poacher has plenty of character, with an extensive bar area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners where you can sit and eat, or relax on a sofa and enjoy their excellent ales, coffee or good food.
Dining at The Poacher is a traditional affair with a classic menu filled with the nation’s favourite pub dishes. Everything is homemade and most ingredients have been locally sourced demonstrating the teams aim to support the local community at all times. Tuck into tasty home cooked curries, succulent steaks cooked to order and the classic pub dish of fish and chips served with peas and tartare sauce of course! There is a good selection of burgers to choose from too, all served with chunky chips and salad. As for the drinks, the bar serves a great choice of local craft ales and has put together a fine choice of wines from both the Old and New Worlds.
Traditional stone walls reflect the age of the building and give the bar a wonderful cosy feeling. A pretty period stone cottage exterior covered in flower filled baskets and surrounded by flower beds leads down to a lovely patio where picnic tables provides a great spot for al fresco drinking and dining.
