Birmingham is famous for its wonderful Balti houses and Adil’s – The Pioneers of Balti Cuisine is amongst the best of them. Living up to its name, this popular Balti restaurant opened way back in 1977 and has continued to serve a fabulous selection of Balti and other Indian dishes ever since. A long term favourite amongst Birmingham’s Balti restaurants, Adil’s is found in the Sparkbrook area of the city, just south of the city centre. Customers return time and again to the restaurant thanks to its unique and original cooking style and the wonderful service provided.
The menu at Adil’s offers a wide range of tasty Indian dishes but the main focus is naturally on Balti. There are plenty of Balti dishes to choose from but those that really shouldn’t be missed include the sweet and sour lamb Balti, cooked on the bone with green chillies and tomatoes; the tropical Balti with a mix of chicken, prawns and vegetables and the Muchi special Balti with king prawns and fish. The restaurant also serves a superb range of steaks, unusual for an Indian restaurant, each given its very own special Indian twist. A good choice of classic Indian favourites also features to keep the traditionalists happy.
Adil’s – The Pioneers of Balti Cuisine may date back to the 1970’s but the style of its dining room is bang up to date. Elegant and modern seating comes in colourful stripes and solid wood tables are presented without the standard white linens of most Indian eateries. Service is always first class at Adil’s, yet another reason this restaurant is set to be around for many more years to come.
