Nestled within the idyllic Surrey village of Goldalming, Barbaracca brings the fresh flavours of Italian and Sicilian cuisine to a cool and contemporary dining room. In prime commuter land, Godalming is a sought after village as far as properties are concerned, attracting a wealthy set of residents. Barbaracca is a wonderful addition to the dining options of the village; a kind of rustic yet contemporary Italian dining room that wouldn’t look out of place is one of London’s more fashionable areas.
Inspired by the owner’s childhood on the island of Sicily, the menu features a good dose of Sicilian produce combined with some of the finest locally sourced ingredients from Surrey and the surrounding area. Flavours are fresh, simple and honest, exactly as Italian food should be, with the main ingredients brought to life by their accompaniments. Try the pink rump of South Down lamb served with rosemary jus, breaded peppers and hand cut chips or the fresh hake fillet with a lemon and caper sauce and rainbow chard. Barbaracca also serves some superb Cicchetti (Italian tapas) which include a fabulous Sicilian style octopus or a gorgeous potato and spinach crocchette. A special menu has been lovingly created for children too, ensuring every member of the family can enjoy Barbaracca's delicious food.
Designed by interior designer Diana Drago, Barbaracca is a fresh and contemporary dining room with rustic Italian touches such as the mosaic tiled bar and the abundance of wood featuring. Bright white walls, solid wood tables and Eames style seating in a variety of colours bring the room right up to date in the style stakes.
