Known by its full name of Mercure Doncaster Centre Danum Hotel, the hotel finds itself in an ideal city centre location just a stone’s throw away from the massive Frenchgate Shopping Centre, which is directly next to the Doncaster train station.
The Mercure chefs across the country all adhere to an exquisite menu, filled with international delights alongside British classics, and Anthony’s Restaurant is no different.
There’s plenty to tantalise the tongue at Anthony’s Restaurant, with delectable appetisers ranging from an excellent prawn cocktail, made with king prawns and crispy shallots, to the Mercure’s signature goats cheese bon bons, served a rocket salad that’s tossed with orange and beetroot carpaccio.
The main course offers just as much variety, with dishes ranging from exotic spicy curries to classic British pies. A heavily advised dish would yet another of Mercure’s signature dishes, the delicious seared sea bream fillet, adorned with vegetable ribbons and a coriander salsa, as well as the succulent roasted lamb rump, accompanied by crushed herb enriched new potatoes and a red wine jus.
Should diners seek something sweet to end the meal on there is a dessert menu that features heavenly treats such as the classic Eton mess, complete with lashings of cream, and the luxurious Movenpick ice cream, with flavours ranging from white chocolate, caramelita and strawberry.
