Adding a touch of Middle Eastern glamour to the Birmingham restaurant scene, So Mezze is a wonderful Lebanese mezze restaurant, shisha lounge and cocktail bar. Located in an enviable address in the heart of Birmingham city centre, So Mezze is just a stone’s throw from the O2 Academy, one of Birmingham’s top music venues, making it a great choice for a pre gig meal or post show drinks.
Dishing up a wide choice of hot and cold mezze there are dishes for all tastes at So Mezze, including some superb vegetarian options. The authentic hummus is layered with minced lamb and olive oil while the delicious Kibbeh of deep fried wheat balls filled with marinated minced lamb and onions is a staple dish of the Lebanon. A vegetarian highlight has to be the lovely little feta cheese and parsley pastry parcels known as Sambousek while meat eaters will love the spicy Lebanese sausages. Fish is high on the agenda too at So Mezze with a stellar Middle Eastern grilled sea bass fillet cooked in a variety of Lebanese spices. Finish off with a classic dessert of baklava drizzle din syrup and covered in chopped nuts.
Vibrant and colourful interiors create a warm and cosy glow inside So Mezze with lots of deep reds and purples, sweeping drapery and pretty cushions while the outdoor heated shisha lounge is a great spot to chill out.
