Let them eat steak! Beef & Brew, a modern interpretation of traditional steak house, is situated in up and coming Kentish Town, directly opposite the tube station. The restaurant is dedicated to offering a dining experience for all: affordable and quality steaks, with plentiful beer.
Established by owners Jessica Simmons and Dan Nathan in the autumn of 2015, Beef & Brew has quickly established a reputation for quality and has built a strong local following. Having worked at celebrity chef Angela Hartnett’s restaurants, head chef Simmons brings with her a wealth of culinary experience, but applied in an accessible and casual environment.
Beef & Brew’s menu is concise with a short selection of steaks sourced from grass fed native breeds reared in Yorkshire. All their steaks are cooked in a charcoal oven leaving a wonderful smoky charred flavour.
Alongside their steaks, the menu offers a range of dishes, including a selection of burgers and buns, plus healthy, vegetarian and non-beef based options.
Starters and small plates include Brisket Jam Nuggets and Pig’s Cheeks on Toast. Cheeky French Dip made with succulent Ox Cheek, coated in beer cheese and gravy is an indulgent rich sandwich, whilst a Rare Roasted Steak Salad is a delicious and light option.
Beef & Brew also caters for vegetarians with an ever-changing selection including items such as Cauliflower Cheese Croquettes or Mozzarella with Courgettes and Romesco.
The décor is relaxed with a butcher’s tiling covering one wall, a large brass bar and a communal table dominating the centre of the room.
Owners Dan and Jess share a love of quality, unpretentious food in a relaxed environment and Beef & Brew reflects that.
