Nestled amidst one of the most picturesque villages in Scotland, the Killin Hotel on the west end of Loch Tay is a fantastic proposition for dining. Surrounded by the stunning beauty of the central Highlands of Perthshire with its sweeping mountains, meandering rivers and sparkling lochs, the Killin Hotel is a popular choice for walkers, climbers and cyclists. The hotel offers a variety of dining options with the beautiful Riverview Conservatory a very fine choice indeed.
Dining in this beautiful light filled space is a thoroughly pleasant affair with a wonderfully tempting menu to peruse. The local Scottish larder is renowned for producing some of the finest fish, shellfish and meat in the country and the kitchen at the Riverview Conservatory at the Killin Hotel certainly make good use of it. The Killin Hotel salmon trio starter is a fine way to kick off a meal, featuring smoked salmon, Brandon rost, fresh confit salmon and rocket, baby capers and a lime and coriander dressing. To follow, the hot shellfish platter with fresh Shetland blueshell organic mussels, langoustines, scallops and prawns in a white wine, garlic, cream and onion sauce is simply divine; as is the Balmoral chicken breast stuffed with haggis, bacon and black pudding and topped with a Drambuie sauce.
The huge glass roof of the Riverview Conservatory allows light to flood into the smart and contemporary room. Chic leather seats and splashes of bright green keep things fresh and modern and the views over the river are simply breath-taking. Diners are treated to a first class service at the restaurant, with beautifully presented dishes that are cooked to perfection.
