Boasting a magnificent location within the Grade II listed Leasowe Castle just outside of Wallasey in Merseyside, the Star Chamber Restaurant is a rather fine dining destination indeed.
Dating back to 1593, the impressive Leasowe Castle is one of the area’s prime destinations for weddings and is surrounded six acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. Conveniently close to the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Wallasey Golf Club and Leasowe Golf Club, the castle is also a popular choice for keen golfers with many enjoying lunch or dinner at the wonderful Star Chamber Restaurant.
The food at The Star Chamber Restaurant certainly keeps up with its impressive location, with a superb menu of modern British cuisine. Using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible and maintaining seasonality at all times, the kitchen creates a fine set of ever changing dishes. Sample starters include a great seared mackerel fillet with toasted ciabatta, beetroot, horseradish remoulade and a watercress and honey mustard dressing while mains feature treacle glazed pork belly with toffee apple puree and treacle jus as well as seared salmon fillet with a herb crushed potato cake, butternut squash puree and chive beurre blanc.
Reminders of the castle’s age are everywhere in the Star Chamber Restaurant including beautiful wood panelling, old stone walls and huge candelabra style lighting hanging down form the beamed ceilings. Modern tables and chairs add a great contrast to the room.
Overlooking the scenic Wirral coastline, Leasowe Castle is a fabulous establishment and a great choice for a special meal out.
