Following his previous posts as manager of restaurants such as Scott’s in Mayfair or Hotel de Crillon in Paris, Frenchman Cyril decided to launch his very own French bistro in London and therefore the wonderful Mill Lane Bistro was born. Located in the heart of West Hampstead, Mill Lane Bistro (formerly known as 77 Wine Bar) is a superb little destination for a meal of flavoursome French cuisine. Found just a ten minute walk from West Hampstead train station, this delightful restaurant is a popular choice for lazy lunches and romantic evening meals, offering a cosy ambience and a fantastic menu.
It really is all about the food at Mill Lane Bistro, with a menu that showcases some of the best French bistro recipes and a stellar set of ingredients. The smoked duck breast with pickled plums and spiced dressing is a great way to kick off a meal as is the chicken liver parfait with pickled grapes and croutons. Main courses continue to impress such as the roasted whole sea bream with brown butter and capers or the rabbit leg with Puy lentils, bacon and white wine sauce whilst desserts like pear, almond and ganache tart guarantee diners are already planning their return trip. Cyril and his team have taken time over the wine list, with a carefully selected range of French reds and white accompanying the menu perfectly.
Rich red walls and cosy fireplaces make Mill Lane Bistro a delight during the colder months whilst the charming outdoor terrace is the place to dine on warmer days and nights. A real hidden gem of a restaurant in West Hampstead, Mill Lane Bistro is a superb choice for anyone who enjoys proper French food.
