2 for 1 at Havana Bank Square

Situated in the very heart of Belfast city centre, Havana Bank Square is a fantastic new restaurant to be opened up on the recently developed Bank Square area of the city. Inspired by the vibrant music, cuisine and culture of Cuba, Havana is a buzzing dining destination and a popular hangout for drinking too thanks to the amazing cocktails served there.

Although inspired by Cuba, the menu at Havana keeps its feet firmly rooted in Ireland as far as sourcing ingredients is concerned. In support of local suppliers, the kitchen team work hard to ensure as much of the produce as possible comes from the local community.

The menu is filled with flavoursome dishes where starters include the delicious crispy buttermilk brined chicken wings with buttermilk honey mustard dressing and scallions and main courses are certain to impress with dishes like daube of Irish beef with shallot and mushroom ragu, buttery mash and red wine jus or battered haddock, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. The sweets are just as good as the savoury with a superb dessert menu that features options such as Clandeboye yoghurt panna cotta with mango jelly, tropical fruit salsa and sesame wafer.

Havana is housed in a fabulous period property and boasts a cool dining room of exposed brick walls and soaring ceilings decked out ornately with original mosaic detail. Chandelier lights drip down from above whilst elegant red velvety seats provide a real splash of colour. Framed images of Cuba adorn the walls whilst Che Guevara’s face looks up from the tables.

Important Information

Please Note: The tastecard discount is not available on Bank Holidays or Celebration Days including, but not limited to, Valentine's Day, Mothering Sunday, Father's Day, etc. As it is particularly busy on a Saturday, Havana Bank Square requires booking early.

We stumbled upon this place after we were turned away from the place we had hoped to eat at - which was definitely our good fortune. We cannot rate this highly enough. The potato and garlic soup with homemade soda bread was simply delicious but the local coley with asparagus, mash and caper sauce was to die for! Turns out my eyes were too big for my stomach so I should
probably have passed on the chocolate and morello cherry mousse but my fiancé enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. The staff were very hospitable, as we have come to expect of the Irish, and my only regret is that London is a little too far for this to become our new local! Helene A "
