Based in the mid Sussex town of Haywards Heath, the Best Western Birch Hotel is a lovely little establishment offering great accommodations and excellent dining facilities. Dating back to 1874, the main building maintains many of its country house original features whilst the recent additions to the building provide a more modern style. Surrounded by the High Weald, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and close to the sweeping South Downs, the hotel boasts an enviable location and is popular amongst visitors to the area.
Aside from the restaurant at The Birch Hotel, the bistro bar is a great alternative dining option, serving a brilliant menu of globally inspired dishes. Whether looking for somewhere for a light snack or coffee or wanting to enjoy a full meal and a drink, the bistro bar at The Birch Hotel has got it covered. The menu is extensive and serves up a wide choice of sandwiches and light snacks whilst larger dishes include tasty starters like wild boar pate with quince jelly and toasted brown bloomer and caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tartlet with salad and crème fraiche dressing. Main courses are superb and feature the likes of five spice belly of pork with pak choi, aromatic broth and steamed rice or pan fried fillet of sea bass with mussel and samphire cream, new potatoes and spring greens.
The bistro bar is a chic little spot to dine in with comfy leather bucket seating and soft beige leather sofas to sit back and relax on. The neon lit bar is lined with tall leather bar stools for those preferring to hang out there.
