Upon sampling the usual fried chicken joints dotted around the streets of Shoreditch in East London, the owners of Cluk Shoreditch noticed a real need for a high quality chicken restaurant in the area, and therefore Cluk was born. Located within the hip and trendy Hoxton 7 bar, nestled within the Hoxton Triangle on Great Eastern Street, Cluk Shoreditch is a cool little pop up kitchen serving chicken American style yet with a hint of the Caribbean and Latin America. Just a stone’s throw from Old Street underground station, Cluk has proved to be a real hit, and has seen Hoxton 7 fill up even more than it usually does.
It’s all about the chicken at Cluk Shoreditch – naturally – and the quality of the meat is of utmost importance. Next up is the marinade and Cluk serves up four very different yet equally as tasty options. Nina’s is based on a Jamaican jerk recipe using extra hot Scotch bonnet peppers with honey and spices whilst the garlic and cheese does exactly what it says on the tin. Grandad’s BBQ features a special BBQ blend with a dash of bourbon whilst the Atomic Habanero is described by the restaurant as “only for the brave”. Choose from grilled, tenders, wings and burgers and sides such as sweet potato fries and mac n cheese. There are a couple of vege options too which always helps whilst the desserts like New York cheesecake clean the palate perfectly.
Cluk Shoreditch is a funky venue with an eclectic décor thanks to Hoxton 7 and its clientele are an eclectic bunch too. Satisfying the need for some top quality chicken, Cluk Shoreditch has made quite a name for itself in these trendy parts.
Please Note: Cluk is open 5-10pm Sunday through to Wednesday, and 5-11pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
