Following the huge success of its older sibling, Amore Ristorante Pizzeria over in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, Amore D’Italia opened its doors to the city in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since.
Located in the busy and bustling Alexandra Parade in the centre of Glasgow, Amore D’Italia is a family-run establishment, serving some of the most authentic Italian cuisine around. The lovely Perella family continue their theme of love in this brilliant Glasgow eatery with a fabulous display of warm and friendly Italian hospitality.
The fresh pasta dishes are well worth considering, especially the house favourite penne pasta with Italian sausage and an onion, mushroom and white wine sauce with just a touch of garlic. The steaks are superb with options like the sirloin in a creamy peppercorn sauce flambéed with brandy and served with chips and salad while the chef’s special pan fried fillet of salmon with cherry tomatoes and lemon served with mashed potatoes and vegetables is as fresh as can be. The divine homemade Italian desserts shouldn’t be missed either, particularly the Cannoli Siciliani which is a shortcrust pastry roll filled with ricotta cheese, fruit zest and chocolate chips.
Intimate booth style seating is ideal for those wanting a bit more privacy while there are plenty of tables for everyone else too. Staff are dressed smart uniforms and even the napkins are branded with the Amore name. It is clear that this restaurant is proving to be every inch the hit its older sibling has been and it would come as no surprise if Glasgow sees yet another Amore popping up in its midst.
