Koko Japanese endeavours to stand out from other Japanese restaurants in Sheffield by introducing classic pan-Asian flavours with a sprinkling of culinary influences from around the world.
Fresh and wholesome dishes are prepared to order and are executed with the precision and uniformity which characterises Japanese food. The delicate delight of sushi is created with care and presented proudly.
There is a generous selection of sushi dishes that are sure to tempt fans of these compact morsels. Try the seductive Lady in Red – a parcel consisting of tuna, red pepper tempura, sweet chilli sauce, and spicy mayo crowned with red tobiko and shichimi. Alternatively, be tempted by the Koko Roll which delivers on taste and texture with its components of prawn tempura, avocado, chives, Philadelphia, pine nuts, and red tobiko anointed with Serrano ham, black olives and spicy mayo.
Koko offers two styles of dining for the main course. Diners can either choose from a mix and match array of small plates or opt instead for the larger complete dishes. In terms of the smaller offerings, there are options like the Japanese soybean soup, tender chicken thigh in a spicy karaage coating, and a Japanese izakaya favourite dish of scallop skewers. Customers drawn to the larger platefuls are presented with delights such as the spicy miso pork, chicken teriyaki, and seabass in ginger. The compact menu reflects the best in Japan’s delicacies and its size allows the talented chefs to perfect each dish in turn.
