The Tannery Bar is a relaxed and amiable eating spot situated within Kendal’s Riverside Hotel. The bar serves a selection of chalkboard favourites which draw inspiration from home and away.
The British menu is peppered with international flavours to provide a well-rounded food listing for visitors to enjoy. Serving both light snacks and main meals, the Tannery Bar truly caters for everyone.
Breaded panko prawns with a chilli dip, marinated chicken and chorizo skewers, and sticky pork ribs can be selected as a starter course or as standalone light bites. Guests opting for a hearty three-course meal are invited to peruse the dishes listed under the heading of ‘mains’. Freshly battered fish and chunky chips served with mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce, spinach, ricotta and basil ravioli, and Texas spiced half roast chicken are among the tempting plates to order.
House specials bring a further tempting array to the pass, including a beef and ale pie with a puff pastry lid, chicken tikka masala, and slow braised shank of lamb. Round off a delightful meal with a pudding like sticky toffee, Belgium chocolate mousse, or satisfy a savoury tooth by indulging in a selection of local cheeses. If light snacks are the preferred option, the bar serves a delicious array of fresh sandwiches, baguettes and salads too.
Tasty pub food is served in a relaxed and contemporary setting. The area is spacious to give guests ample room to stretch and recline at leisure. In the summer months, venture out onto the riverside balcony to do a spot of otter watching. The building itself dates back to the 1600s and was the former home of the town’s leather makers. The Tannery Bar in the Riverside Hotel welcomes four-legged guests as well as two legged ones to its waterside Kendal locale.
