Found in the charming village of Great Haseley just a few miles from of the historic city of Oxford, The Plough is a beautiful pub and restaurant. Sitting under a charming thatched roof, this delightful country pub and kitchen is a very popular destination for dining thanks to its lovely surroundings and fabulous seasonally inspired menu.
The kitchen at The Plough are obviously a talented crew of chefs and demonstrate this in a superb menu which changes according to the seasons. Fresh, locally sourced produce is held in high regard at The Plough, and this really does make all the difference to the quality of the food. Tuck into a dish of roast rump of Spring lamb served with green beans, Mrs Beeton’s pan haggerty and a rosemary and red wine jus or an open salmon Wellington with sautéed buttered spinach , roasted sweet red peppers and a white wine sauce and enjoy the kind of quality that The Plough is renowned for. Vegetarian options are brilliant too such as wild mushroom and butternut squash risotto with roasted garlic, tarragon and grilled goat’s cheese.
A picture perfect thatched roof is always a big attraction whilst The Plough also boasts a huge beer garden and ample parking outside. Step inside and it’s all low hung beams , log fires and cobbled flooring whilst the newly refurbished restaurant, which seats up to 40 diners, offers a more contemporary feel with bespoke wooden furnishings including a communal bench style table as well as the more usual seating arrangements.
