The Agra has been serving an infusion of both east and west inspired cuisine since 1989. Situated in Hapton, Lancashire, the renovated barn come restaurant has won copious awards for its unprecedented service and quality. The traditional stone building houses a welcoming and first class interior.
Agra pride themselves on providing an extensive and quality menu selection, for all tastes and preferences. Offering a taste of authentic Indian cuisine, as well as the classics, the Agra has adapted traditional dishes to their own specialities in varying spice levels ranging from mildly medium to fiery hot.
If you’re the middle man when it comes to spiciness, try the Shahee Chicken Tukra – marinated chicken breast, stuffed with spicy ground lamb and bathed in a light spicy sauce. Why have one meat when you can have two and seafood, the Special Mix Clay Oven Akhni includes king prawns, chicken and lamb with tomatoes, coriander and fenugreek leaves.
Alternatively, if you like the curry spice dial turned up to inferno, the Lamb Bhunjon is highly recommended with its succulent consistency, juicy tomato puree and vibrant seasoning with fresh herbs. Lamb isn’t necessarily for everyone, so a poultry alternative is the Garlic Chicken Chilli Massala is a taste sensation of sliced onions, garlic, green chillies and capsicum.
When you have eaten your fill at the Agra, there are plenty of opportunities to walk it off in the glorious Lancashire countryside.
