2 for 1 at Jalfrezi

At the authentic Indian restaurant, Jalfrezi in Bramhall, the experienced team of servers pride themselves on good service and their knowledge of traditional Indian dishes. Behind the scenes, skilled chefs take pride in meticulously crafting each and every dish, utilising only the freshest and best ingredients.

The Jalfrezi team have adapted traditional Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist, serving the food in a pleasant and relaxing ambience, ensuring that each and every guest has an enjoyable experience. Whether it will be a selection of starters or a full meal, there are dish options for everyone.

From the Starters selection, diners can pick from an amalgam of different dishes such as samosas, chicken pakoras, mixed kebabs, spicy chicken wings, tandoori chops and chilli chicken, all of which come with a salad and sauce. Liking the sound of more the one dish? Jalfrezi offers two sharing portions for couples or those with a big appetite, for example you can spice up your life with the ‘flaming mixture’ a combination of all the hottest dishes.

Offering a wide range of Indian dishes, including vegetarian, seafood and spicy sizzlers, the chef has sought to compile a list of house recommendations to cater for every spice pallet. A noteworthy example is ‘The Princesses Jalfrezi’, which consists of chicken tikka, keema and aloo and is served with a thick and spicy Jalfrezi sauce, although the dish can be tempered down to a medium setting if requested. Another dish worth considering is the ginger kofta, a medium curry sauce drizzled over minced meat balls, seasoned with ginger and garlic. For those who can’t brave their way up the spicy setting the Rezala, with its cool and creamy yoghurt base, cooked with peppers, fried onions and herbs in a choice of lamb, chicken or vegetable, is the perfect choice.

We dined on a hot sunny Monday evening when all of the other restaurants in Bramhall were quiet. We've been going to this restaurant for years. The service is always courteous and efficient. The food tonight reminded us why we've been coming here for years. My Hotrod was piping hot full of spice and came with well caramelised onions on a hot plate. My wife's vegetable samosas were freshly cooked and dry no hint of oil and delicious. I chose chicken tikka with salad man bread and onion banji which was lovely the chicken having just a hint of lemon from the marinade. My wife chose korai shashlic with pilau rice which was also lovely the curry sauce nice and hot with a strong tomato base.
Do try this restaurant the food is cooked with the minimum of oil. It may well be quiet on occasions but all the food is cooked to order. The wine list is very reasonably priced. "
