Serving up a plethora of Britain’s favourite food, The Plough Inn in St. Asaph is a fantastic little spot to grab some great grub.
Open for over fifteen years, The Plough Inn has been fitted with a modern open kitchen, allowing the sounds and scents of the kitchen to blend in with the jovial ambience of the location. Allowing guests the freedom to dine where they wish, The Plough Inn hosts a restaurant, lounge and bar area in which diners can choose where to sit. For example, special occasions are splendid in the restaurant while laid back meetings are ideal in the bar.
Every dish on the menu is homemade with only the finest ingredients, ensuring each meal will be as brilliant as it can be. There are plenty of tantalising appetisers available, such as the fiery Five Spice Battered Chicken Goujons and the scrumptious Trio of Goat’s Cheese, infused with honey and served with an onion and rosemary chutney, yet for the truly ravenous, there are platters that have samples of The Plough Inn’s enticing starters. Containing such delights as balsamic glazed sausages, fire crackers jalapeno peppers and pulled pork covered nachos, these platters make for excellent bar snacks or shared experiences.
The menu’s mains feature a list of home favourites, from their crispy beef salad to a Welsh cask ale battered cod fillet, as well as several steaks fresh from the grill. A particularly exquisite choice is the succulent 9oz 28 day dry aged ribeye steak, sourced from British beef, with the optional ‘Surf and Turf’ skewer of garlic prawns. One of the specialities of the house is the sizzling hot skillet, consisting of sir fried and marinated vegetables, that is available with Cajun chicken, sweet chilli prawns or black bean beef strips, yet on their own they make for a fantastic veggie option.
Along with the classic British meals are the classic British desserts, with some utterly divine options like the refreshing Eton mess, served with seasonal berries and Welsh vanilla pod ice cream, and the chef’s special sticky toffee pudding, coated in butterscotch sauce and paired with Welsh banoffee ice cream.
