Bringing almost all of Southeast Asia to Leeds, Bar Soba serves a huge menu of delicious dishes from China, Japan, Malaysia and more.
Decorated with a contemporary, modern style that features plenty of hanging bare light bulbs and street art, Bar Soba creates a cool ambience that’ll leave guests wishing to stay and hang out even after the last bite.
The many appetisers tantalise the taste buds with delights from individual parts of Southeast Asia, such as the sweet Vietnamese sticky chicken wings, fried to a crisp and then tossed in a ginger, soy and sweet chilli glaze, and the enchanting tiger prawn tempura, complete with a mango mayo and homemade kimchee; which is South Korea's national dish.
If diners are adept enough with chopsticks, they can go for the full authentic experience with one of the rice or noodle bowls, featuring such bountiful bowls as the enticing Shanghai sticky pork belly, containing slow braised pork belly marinated with Chinese rice wine, cinnamon and soy, and the exquisite vegetable gyoza ramen, consisting of a miso and seaweed brother with Asian vegetables, a boiled egg and crispy fried shallots.
If bowls aren’t guest’s bag then there are some dishes on a dish that are truly delectable, such as the flavoursome Dirty Bangkok Burger, a 6oz beef patty infused with chilli, lemongrass and garlic stacked in a brioche bun with soba mayo, kimchee and smoked chilli onion jam, and the brilliant Crispy 5 Spice Chicken, marinated in spices and ginger and served with steamed rice, crispy onions and tamarind sauce.
Diners not done with Southeast Asia will revel in the selection of Bar Soba’s excellent desserts, including divine treats like the heavenly deep fried coconut bananas, accented with salted peanut caramel ice cream, and the moreish chocolate chip star anise and cinnamon doughtnuts, complemented by citrus syrup and milk ice cream.
