Situated on the borders of Staffordshire and Shropshire, The Swan at Forton is a wonderfully traditional country coaching inn, which dates back to the 18th century.
This hugely popular country pub attracts visitors from far and wide with its superb menu and local ales and is well-placed for those visiting attractions and events such as the Lilleshall National Sports Centre, the Newport Bike Race, the V Festival and the West Midlands Game Fair. The towns of Stafford, Telford and Market Drayton are approximately a 20 minute from The Swan at Forton, making it a central spot for a bite to eat in the countryside.
The wide and varied menu covers all of the classic pub dishes along with some rather more refined offerings as well. Enjoy the delicious cold home cooked honey roast ham, topped with two fried eggs, chips and dressed salad, or go for a mouth-watering Gressingham oven roasted duck breast glazed with red wine and berry jus served with vegetables and Dauphinoise potatoes. The slow roasted belly of pork with apple compote, whole grain mustard jus, vegetables and potato rosti is simply superb while those wanting something light to eat are treated to a fantastic selection of sandwiches and baps.
The Swan at Forton is a spacious establishment where low beamed ceilings, original wooden floors and huge old fireplaces offer bags of character. Huge Chesterfield sofas offer plenty of comfortable seating and there are blackboards dotted about the place detailing the specials of the day.
