Found just outside the town of Halstead, Gosfield is a quaint little village with the lovely lake at its heart and the Lakeview Indian Cuisine restaurant has long been part of village life. Offering idyllic views and a rather fine menu of traditional Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, this popular eatery attracts both locals and out of towners looking for somewhere nice to eat.
Alongside a whole host of classic Indian dishes, there are some rather exciting plates of food to sample at Lakeview Indian Cuisine. Start perhaps with a dish of coconut prawns or a Bangladeshi chicken 65 with fresh green chillies, fresh curry leaves and a green salad, and follow with specials such as the Sagorana, generously portioned cubes of chicken or lamb tikka with a medium curry sauce, minced balls, egg, tomato, potato and peppers, or the sweet and sour Mongorian chicken, a Northern Indian dish made with green mangoes and fresh coriander. The restaurant is also renowned for its superb baltis, a real speciality of the kitchen.
Dine inside the attractive dining room which overlooks the lovely village lake or head right out into the garden during the warmer months and sits beside the picturesque scene. Lakeview Indian Cuisine certainly has plenty to boast about, from its fabulous setting to its superbly authentic menu and the service is pretty fantastic too. Regular live music acts appear at the restaurant and free parking is always a bonus.
