Found just a stone’s throw away from the Liverpool Waterfront is the exceptional Modern European restaurant, District House.
Recently opened with the philosophy that Liverpool deserves a place in which diners can enjoy Modern European food at a great price, District House now offers its fine cuisine at an even better price from Monday to Friday to tastecard holders, making the venue an ideal place to line the stomach with excellent food before a big Friday night out, or even the first port of call given that it has a fantastic bar as well.
An experience worth sampling in full, diners can indulge themselves with several rich courses from a menu as diverse as it is delicious. Merit worthy appetisers include the irresistible tempura king prawns, lightly spiced and served with Enoki mushrooms and crispy kale, the beyond tender slow pork belly, slow braised and partnered with a Madeira jus, and the sumptuous chargrilled asparagus, complete with a fried duck egg, parmentier potatoes and a béarnaise sauce.
The choices for the main courses are just as varied, with each selection providing a thoroughly pleasurable meal. Particularly noteworthy choices such as the succulent 8oz fillet steak, accompanied by truffle oil drizzled fat chips and confit tomatoes, and the exquisite pan fried seabass, presented on a bed of crayfish, sage and onion risotto with tempura anchovies, make for excellent gluttonous dishes, whilst lighter options like the sesame beef salad, adorned with Asian vegetables and a chilli dressing, are fantastic for those watching their figure.
A wealth of decedent desserts are available as sweet conclusions, and there are also plenty of brilliant sides to accompany every dish, so diners from every walk of life should be able to find something to fall in love with at District House.
