2 for 1 at The Queens Road Bar at Ramada Coventry

Found in the centre of Coventry, close to the River Sherbourne, is the exemplary Ramada Coventry hotel, an ideal locale for those visiting Coventry for both business and pleasure.

Within the Ramada Coventry is an exquisite bar and lounge area, known as the Queens Road Bar, which serves a plethora of British, grilled and International delights to hotel guests and passing diners alike.

Acting as an informal alternative to the Queens Road Restaurant, the Queens Road Bar offers some sublime dishes that truly sets it apart from conventional hotel bars. Those wishing to simply pop in for a few drinks would be wise to call in with their tastecard though, as there are many tantalising nibbles, if nothing else.

Worthy of due consideration, the bar bites and starters are in a league of their own, with bar essentials such as the sumptuous baked Camembert, best savoured in tandem with another diner, this comes with plenty of toasted bread and onion chutney, and The QR Board, a rich ensemble of apple smoked ribs, chicken and tarragon terrine, tempura squid and much more.

Diners will be spoilt for choice when it comes to a main course, as the wealth of carnivorous catering dishes consist of irresistible meals. Exemplary entrees like the tender full rack of ribs, sourced from orchard reared apple smoked Somerset pork and complete with an apple and cider chutney as well as sweet potato fries, and the mighty Mixed Grill, a feast with spicy sausages, thyme and lemon enriched chicken and a rump steak, promise to satisfy any appetite.

Featuring a medley of herbivorous oriented dishes for the meat averse, vegetarian diners can enjoy a fair amount of dishes as well. Noteworthy mains include the rich oyster mushroom and spinach tagliatelle, enhanced with Devonshire cream, truffle oil and shallots, and the satisfying pea, broad bean and asparagus risotto, mixed with shaved Old Winchester cheese, spring onions and a lemon zest.

Whatever brings diners to Coventry, be it the concise Central Six Retail Park or the enchanting Albany Theatre, it would be wise to discard any preconceived notions of hotel bar food and venture to the Queens Road Bar at Ramada Coventry.
