The fabulous tastes and flavours of the Mediterranean have landed in the Horfield area of Bristol with the brilliant Zest Café.
Located conveniently close to the stadium of Bristol Rovers Football Club, the Zest Café is a great little Mediterranean restaurant where the main focus is on Greek and Turkish cuisine.
Offering a wonderfully friendly vibe and some truly delicious and authentic dishes from the Mediterranean, it comes as no surprise that this lovely Bristol eatery is rather popular amongst the local diners.
There are plenty of wonderful dishes to sample from the Zest menu and for a little taste of everything the Zest Mezze Platter is well worth a try. Tuck into chicken and spicy sausage shish, mince kofte, beef and onion filo, feta and parsley filo, Turkish cous cous, tzatziki, carrot dip and pitta bread.
Meat eaters will adore the utterly tender lamb kleftiko, a slow cooked lamb shank with herbs and spices, risotto rice and vegetables, while fresh fish dishes such as the seabass topped with an herb crust and served with dauphinoise potatoes, sundried tomato salsa and vegetables never fails to impress. Vegetarians are treated to ample choice too, including a rather magnificent vegetable tagine with pilau rice.
This rustic little eatery is warm and inviting, with wooden tables and a décor reminiscent of a typical tavern. Traditional live music and dancing can be enjoyed on certain evenings, which always guarantee to liven things up at the Zest Café.
