Started with pate and the smoked haddock scotch egg. Pate very good but the scotch egg rather bland and a little soggy. We then had rib eye steaks with skin on fries and blue cheese sauce. Steaks tasty and cooked well but one was a little too fatty. overall the food was good and the service also very good. We were however very let down with the atmosphere. A table football table right beside the open plan restaurant made for a rather stressful and noisy meal. Not at all the quiet relaxing night we planned. Design of the restaurant also leads to a feeling of a school canteen with the style of furniture. OK as a necessary stop over but wouldn't be a choice otherwise. The 50%discount made it acceptable. "
