Found in the eastern area of Coventry, on the same road as the Coventry Music Museum and a stone’s throw from Gosford Green, is the charming Mexican Spice.
A cosy interior invites diners in to sample the sublime and spicy flavours of Mexican cuisine, of which there can be no mistake that that is the house speciality, what with the novel touches of ponchos and sombreros dotted around the restaurant.
Members calling advance with their tastecard can enjoy all they desire from the tantalising menu at a terrific price, providing the perfect excuse to kick off a fiesta and indulge in all manners of Mexican tastes.
Start the party with one of the appetisers, such as one of the many nacho options, like the loaded Nachos Supreme, a Crunchy Wrap, available with prawns, piri-piri chicken and chilli con carne, and the classic olive topped garlic bread.
Continue with one of the classic Mexican staples, like a hearty quesadilla or the fiery enchiladas, or if the concept of a wrap doesn’t appease the appetite, there’s some traditional dishes also available as a main course. Particularly delectable dishes include the irresistible garlic butter prawns, paired with plenty of rice, the succulent Arrachera, a tenderised and marinated steak partnered with fried onions and vegetables, and the scrumptious Carne al Pastor, spiced pulled pork mixed with chillies and pineapple.
There’s plenty more to please any palate, including some milder British dishes and a selection of sweet treats, making Mexican Spice a great place to grab an informal bite.
