Offering a wealth of wondrous dishes, ranging from British and Scottish classics to imaginative reinventions of beloved dishes, The Old Bank treats Carlisle locals to some truly scrumptious fare.
Situated in a Grade II listed Bank Building, The Old Bank is as historical and establishment as it is comfortable. Members can relax with a number of delectable dishes at an excellent price when they call in advance with a tastecard.
Kick things off with one of the scrumptious starters, such as the rich Scottish rope grown mussels, served in a fennel, herb and cider broth, the hearty venison Scotch egg, complete with a blackberry ketchup, and the delectable herb and nut enriched Mozzarella sticks, paired with a smoky red pepper salsa.
The main courses offer just as tantalising an array of dishes that cater especially well to those with a ravenous appetite. Particularly noteworthy examples include the monstrous Killer Kermit burger, two 6oz pork burgers stacked with maple smoked bacon, toffee apples and sage and onion stuffing, the sumptuous potato dumplings, partnered with Blue cheese, walnuts and a rocket and herb salad, and the gargantuan Holy Grail, an 8oz hand cut fillet steak accompanied with locally made haggis and a wholegrain mustard and whiskey sauce.
Also offering an ever changing and eclectic list of heavenly desserts, diners looking for a thoroughly indulgent three course meal should end their search at The Old Bank.
Please Note: The Old Bank is not open on Mondays. The tastecard discount is not available throughout December or on Bank Holidays.
