Following in the hugely successful footsteps of its older sibling Saporito, the Saporito Wine Bar opened its doors to the people of Paisley in May 2015. The Saporito team realised the need for a great wine bar in the centre of the city after having impressed the locals with its cracking coffee. Located on Old Sneddon Street just moments from Paisley Gilmore Street train station, Saporito Wine Bar has proved to be such a success that it had to double its team of staff in less than a year.
Aside from a rather fine selection of wines, cocktails and champagnes, Saporito Wine Bar dishes up some rather delicious Italian cuisine too. Traditional Italian pizzas and pastas keep the customers coming back for more as well as a whole host of other mouth-watering Italian dishes. The king prawn tagliatelle in a hot roquito tomato, white wine and coriander sauce is simply divine whilst the pizza topped with rare steal, béchamel, mozzarella, rocket and cherry tomatoes is a revelation. Grilled lemon sole with baby crushed potatoes is always a winning dish and the Italian pork sausage is a sage, tomato, garlic and rosemary sauce served with cannellini beans, potatoes and ciabatta is well worth ordering.
Decked out in a monochrome colour scheme and featuring a baby grand piano in one corner, Saporito is bang on in the style stakes too. Live music is often enjoyed at the wine bar too, making it a brilliant option for a chilled out evening in Paisley.
