Sample the culinary delights of Persian cuisine at the lovely Apadana restaurant in central Huddersfield. Located close to the many shops of Huddersfield town centre, Apadana provides an ideal spot for a lunchtime break or an evening meal, and offers diners a great opportunity to discover the cuisine of the Middle East. Referring to the traditional and contemporary cuisine of Iran, Persian food is based upon the staple ingredients of rice served with meat or vegetables. Herbs and spices play an important role and include the likes of saffron, dried lime, cinnamon and parsley to add extra flavour dimensions to each dish. A classic starter at Apadana has to be the Ash-Reshteh – a traditional Persian noodle soup made with fresh pulses and herbs whilst the Halim Bademjani is another – mashed aubergine, lamb, rice, garlic, walnuts and mint. As for mains, sample the national dish of Persia – the Chelow Kabab - a rice and lamb kebab dish topped with Sumac, fresh herbs and a Shirazi salad.
Apadana is obviously proud of its origins and this is reflected on both the menu and the décor of the dining room. Smart, stylish furnishings add a modern touch whilst the deep red walls feature dramatic Persian figures in white, adding a touch of tradition to proceedings. Service is fantastic and staff are happy to help with menu recommendations and explanations.
