London’s Olympic Park has seen plenty of change and improvement since London 2012 and the former athlete’s village, now known as the East Village has become a hub for eating out in the area. Santi is one of the excellent restaurants found in this cool new area, a hip and stylish eatery serving top notch Italian food. Opened in summer 2016, Santi has quickly impressed diners with its utterly authentic Italian food including pizzas made from specially imported Italian flour and made by trained pizza chefs from the south of Italy.
There’s plenty to get excited about when it comes to the menu at Santi, especially amongst fans of authentic Italian food. The pizza and pasta dishes are superb whilst classic meat dishes such as breaded veal escalope with spaghetti in tomato sauce or calf’s liver with butter and sage are always hugely popular. The spicy seafood casserole from south Italy is simply divine with ingredients such as fresh mussels, clams, squid, prawns and sea bass all included. As for the wine list, the restaurant stays true to its Italian roots with a rather fine selection of Italian reds and whites.
Santi is the perfect post shopping dining destination thanks to its close proximity to the enormous Westfield Stratford shopping centre and is also a great place to head to after a day out in the nearby Olympic Park, home to the London Aquatics Centre, the Velodrome and the Arcelor Mittal Orbit structure. Offering a stylish modern setting and a few pavement tables to the front for al fresco dining on warmer days, Santi is a restaurant well worth visiting.
