Tucked away in the Furzedown area of south west London and conveniently close to both Tooting and Streatham, The Village is a rather good Turkish restaurant. In an area filled with local eateries, The Village sets itself aside from the rest thanks to its excellent menu of freshly prepared, authentic Turkish dishes. The passionate and dedicated team at The Village offer a lovely service to each and every customer, extending a warm Turkish welcome that ensures people return time and again.
The menu is extensive and covers most of the traditional Turkish dishes one would expect to see. Hot and cold mezze feature classic options such as the Baba Ghanoush with its chopped aubergines, roasted red peppers, parsley, olive oil, garlic and lemon juice whilst stuffed vine leaves are another well-known dish, filled with a fragrant mix of rice, pine nuts, herbs, onion and peppers. Kebabs are naturally high on the agenda for the main courses with the minced lamb kofte cooked on the charcoal grill a real winner amongst diners. The Village seafood platter is another highlight of the menu, featuring a selection of seabass fillet, salmon, king scallops and king prawns all cooked on the charcoal grill.
Light wood furnishings and sleek red and black seating create a smart space in which to dine whilst modern framed artwork on the walls add another edge to the space. The Village is a brilliant little Turkish eatery, providing locals with a great option for dining out in the nearby area.
