Authentic Spanish tapas is the order of the day at the wonderful Amantia, located in central Birmingham.
Situated in a prime city centre location just steps from New Street station, the family-run Amantia restaurant has proved to be a big hit on the city’s dining scene since opening its doors.
Housed in the historic Sun House, the former headquarters of Sun Insurances, it seems only appropriate that the huge iron gates, complete with a giant metallic sunshine, should open their doors to a Spanish restaurant.
A true taste of Spain is offered at Amantia with many ingredients imported over from the Iberian Peninsula. Choose from a wide range of tasty tapas, separated into meat, fish and vegetable sections, or tuck into one of the mouth-watering main courses on offer.
The tapas are freshly cooked to order and feature simply delicious dishes such as spicy mini chorizo sausages cooked in Rioja wine or Galician style octopus served on a bed of potatoes and covered in olive oil and paprika. Soft pastry parcels are filled with black pudding, soft goat’s cheese and caramelised onions and the sweet red piquillo peppers come with a cream cheese and garlic herb mix. The paella at Amantia is a must try for any fan of the dish, while hearty plates like the Andalucian oxtail stew will warm anyone up on a cold winters eve.
Amantia is clad with a chic and stylish interior, making it an ideal spot for any occasion, whether it’s for an informal get together or in celebration of a special event.
